Eve's Corner is really the focal
point of the Village. For a number of years there has been
white ducks on the pond but this Christmas, Reynard had
them for his dinner. This spring a Mallard has raised 7
offspring to the delight of all those who have sat on
the seat and watched. During the mid 90s, the pond
was very nearly empty of water as it is only a dew pond.

Spring on Eve's Corner. The Flowering Cherry Trees
were planted in the 60s by the Danbury Society on
the land which is owned by the National Trust.
The cottages face onto a lane which cannot be seen
in the picture.

The Playing Fields were donated to the Parish of
Danbury by the Dawson Family who lived in Frettons,
firstly in 1947 and more in 1982. This enabled
the Sports and Social Centre to be built. It houses a
large gym, hall and a nice bar and eating area.

"Best Pitches Award".
Looking towards the south and at the Danbury Bowling Club
green. This beautiful green is used a lot. The tennis
courts can be seen behind together with their tower lights;
care should be taken with developments like this to ensure
that the surrounding environment does not suffer from
light pollution.

The Village Hall was built in 1911
by Public Subscription and donations. It had a new roof
put on in 2000 as the previous one was leaking. The
Kitchens are about to be updated as a local school uses
it daily. As can be seen from the posters it plays
host to the Danbury Players who put on plays from time
to time. On most Saturday afternoons there is a Jumble
Sale which is very well supported.

Danbury is a pleasant Village with many trees and shrubs.

Runsell Green is 1 mile from
the centre of Danbury on the road to Maldon. Years ago
it was more important than Danbury but now only boasts
a boarded up Tea Room and a very nice public House
called "The Anchor"
Runsell Green.
